I have here some steps to help you with converting billable expenses into an invoice.
You can link your bill to an invoice using the Billable Expense feature. However, this feature is only available in the Plus version of Quickbooks Online.
You also need to create the billable expense first, so QBO will prompt you to add them on the invoice (the little arrow on the right part of the transaction). Let me guide you on this.
To turn on the billable expense feature:
Go to theGearicon.
Select Account and Settings.
Choose Expenses on the left pane.
Click theBills and expensessection and check the box next toMake expenses and items billable.
Tap Save.
ChooseDone.
To create billable expense:
Go to thePlus signicon.
ChooseExpense.
Add thePayee's name.
Select acategoryand enter the amount.
Check theBillablebox and add the customer's name.
Enter the needed details.
ClickSave and close.
Once done, here's how you can add the billable expense to the existing invoice:
ClickSalesat the left menu. Then, go to theInvoicessection.
Find the invoice and click it to expand the page.
Choose theEdit invoicebutton that appears in the right corner.
On the Invoice page, click on the arrow beside the Balance Due.
Select on Add on the billable expense/s under Add to Invoice to add them.
