This error can happen when uploading a .jfif file. While it may work in some cases, it can still cause issues when attaching receipts in QuickBooks Online. To avoid any upload errors, it’s best to convert the file to a more commonly supported format first.

To fix this, you can do the following:

  • Convert or rename the file download.jfif to .jpg, then upload it again.
  • If you’re unable to convert it, take a screenshot of the receipt and save it as a .jpg or .png, then upload it instead.
  • As a workaround, you can upload the receipt directly through the Receipts tab instead of manually attaching it to the expense.

Once the file is converted to a supported format, the receipt should upload successfully, and you’ll be able to create the expense without errors.
