Can we add our own Account type, detail type and sub account type into the charts of accounts. Or can we use only the available types, suggested by QB?

Yes, you're correct. You can only use the Detail Type, Account Type, and Sub-account Type listed in the system. If the type of account you want isn't the system, I'd suggest reaching out to your accountant so they can guide you on the best alternate accounts.
