We can't permanently delete a customer account, but we can absolutely mark it as inactive.
To do this, go to All apps -> Customer Hub -> Customers & leads, and select the customer's name. Click the drop-down arrow next to it, choose Make inactive, and click Yes, make inactive to confirm.
Following these steps will hide the customer from your lists and menus.
