Hi, Kerwin1. Thank you for bringing the issue with the estimate not showing the correct total amount to our attention. We understand this caused your customer to pay the incorrect amount.

In QuickBooks Online (QBO), the total amount of the estimates is automatically calculated based on the rate and quantity. However, if the rate and quantity are correct but the total amount is incorrect, this is likely caused by a browser-related issue.

Since you mentioned it was paid by your customer, you can check the email sent to confirm if it matches the correct amount. If it doesn’t match the correct amount, you can contact your customer to discuss sending a new estimate to offset and settle the correct amount.

To prevent this issue in the future, start by closing the Estimates tab and logging out of your account to refresh your web browser. This ensures you’re viewing the most updated data.

Additionally, make sure you’re using a supported browser to avoid compatibility problems. You can also access QuickBooks Online (QBO) using an incognito window by pressing Ctrl + Shift + N. This opens a new browsing session free from cached data that could interfere with the amount displaying correctly.
