Question

Hi everyone. We are a small craft distillery, I need to track inventory at multiple locations. I do not seem to be able to find a way to do this. Any insight appreciated.

I appreciated your concern about inventory tracking in QuickBooks, Kyle.

QuickBooks Online (QBO) currently does not natively support inventory tracking across multiple locations. This feature is available only in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), which is limited to the US and Canada.

However, you can use the Category feature in QBO as a workaround to help organize items by location.

Here’s how:

  1. Navigate to the Sales menu and select Products & Services.
  2. Click the New button and choose Inventory.
  3. Enter the item name and use the Category field to assign its location.

Alternatively, you may consider exploring third-party applications tailored for multi-location inventory tracking. You can search for suitable apps directly via our QuickBooks Apps page or access the Apps menu from your QuickBooks account.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Apps menu in QuickBooks.
  2. Select Find Apps.
  3. Search for solutions using keywords like inventory management to find those that meet your needs.

@Kyle-Robertson

You need a 3rd party inventory management app to sync with QBO.
