Hello, Aletia. Adding VAT as a separate item on an invoice isn't possible.
A VAT is applied as a tax rate rather than as a separate item. QuickBooks Online requires you to set up tax first and apply VAT rates directly to your invoices. Here's how:
Hover over My apps, then select Tax.
Click Set up tax.
Fill in the necessary information and create VAT rates relevant to your region.
Hit Next.
Once VAT is enabled, you'll see the option to apply VAT when creating an invoice. Choose the VAT rate, and the system will calculate the total VAT for the sale.
