I am trying to set up an account (bank charges) in USD, but it's not letting me to choose the currency (default at home currency=canadian). Can someone help please?

From past questions, it mentioned that after having multi-currency enabled in settings, you can only choose from 4 accounts - accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank and credit card. I need to choose accounts payable, but it doesn't offer to change the currency (preset at canadian).
