Question

I don't have a "receipt" feature in my QuickBooks online. How can I uploadreceipts captured by my clients to QuickBooks without having to enter them manually. Thanks

Hi @onboardbookkeeping-accts, as you have pointed out, you don't have the Receipt feature because it is currently unavailable in QuickBooks Online (QBO) Global. However, there is an alternative way to upload those captured receipts by your clients. You can upload them directly to the Bills or as attachments and create an Expense transaction.

If those captured receipts are for bills, please follow the steps below:

  1. Navigate to All apps, choose Expense transactions, then select Bills.
  2. From the Add bill dropdown, click Upload from computer.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to upload all receipts.

On the other hand, if those are for expenses, here's how to upload and make them an expense transaction:

  1. Go to the Gear icon, click Attachments, then hit Add attachment.
  2. Select the receipts and upload them.
  3. Click the Dropdown icon next to the Download button, then select Create expense.

However, if the receipts are for cheques, you will need to create the transaction manually and upload the receipts in the attachments section.
