Question

I received an invoice in the new financial year but invoice date is in the previous financial year. Do I use invoice date or first date of the new financial year?

Welcome to the Community, Stephanie.

I appreciate you posting your concern here, allow me to share some insights about invoices in QuickBooks Online (QBO). In recording invoices, the date depends on when the transaction will take place. To simplify, you have to use the date of when the invoice or transaction is being made.

Moreover, I'll also share this article that can serve as your reference if you want to learn how to receive payments in QuickBooks: Record invoice payments in QuickBooks Online.
