You need to utilize a free invoicing app as a workaround to accept online payments (e.g Stripe, PayPal) and mirror the data back into your QBO account.

As a workaround, you can look for third-party application that can help process online payments from customers, like what @Fiat mentioned. Just go to Apps menu on the left pane or visit this link: QuickBooks Apps.
