Need help in modifying the opening balance. I tried to modify in the chart of accounts but I did not get the option of opening balance to modify.

You'll have an option to edit an incorrect opening balance. Follow these steps:

1. From the Chart of Accounts, account, then go to the Action column and select View register.
2. Find the opening balance entry. It should have Opening Balance Equity in the Payee/Account column and Opening Balance in the Memo column.
3. Select it to expand the view, then click Edit.
4. Change the amount, then tap Save.

However, you won't be able to see an opening balance entry if you never enter one. If so, what you'll need to do is create a journal entry to record the opening balance. You can find the detailed steps here: What to do if you didn't enter an opening balance in QuickBooks Online.
