The purchase orders are currently using GBP, but the company’s base currency should be EGP. I need assistance changing the home currency from GBP to EGP in QuickBooks

Have you turned on the multicurrency feature? If so, this could be the reason you are unable to change your currency, as QuickBooks Online permanently locks your home currency.

 

To resolve this, you can either purge your data (if the account is less than 60 days old) or cancel your existing QuickBooks Online (QBO) subscription and create a new one.

 

To purge your data, follow these steps:

 

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online account as an admin.
  2. Go to your browser's address bar, clear the existing URL, and enter this web address instead: https://app.qbo.intuit.com/app/purgecompany.
  3. To confirm that you want to delete your company data, type Yes.
  4. Select OK, then select Wipe data.

 

Before starting over, be sure to export your data and import it into the new company file.
