What does this mean? ¨Select a date after the last transaction that used this item when you were tracking it as inventory¨

Let me help you manage your inventory, @natica567.

In QuickBooks Online (QBO), we can only post transactions after the start date of the inventory item. The date on the inventory item is when you will start tracking quantity, which is why you can't create a transaction before the date entered. To get past the error message, we'll have to change it.

Here's how:

1. Go to the Gear icon.
2. Under Lists, select Products and services.
3. Look for the inventory item.
4. Click the Edit button.
5. On the Quantity on hand, select Starting value.
6. Once prompted, click the Got it button.
7. Change the date on As of date box.
8. Hit Save and close.
