Possible reasons why some items in your estimates are showing six decimal places could be the currency format or cost price entered, Michael.

To ensure that our recommended solution addresses your issue, could you please provide a screenshot of the figure you meant? This will help us better understand your current experience.

In QuickBooks, the standard amount has two decimal places after the decimal point. If you're currency format is set to 123.456,00, the comma is replaced with a period, giving the impression of having multiple decimal places. To check and change the setup of your currency format, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Gear icon in the upper-right corner of your QuickBooks.
  2. Under YOUR COMPANY, select Account and settings.
  3. Click the Advanced tab.
  4. Scroll down and select Other preferences.
  5. Click the Currency Format dropdown and choose the option formatted as $123,456.00 to ensure that amounts display with only two decimal places.
  6. Hit Save, then Done.

If you're referring to the rate, please note that you can enter up to 9 decimal places. You have the option to edit the rate to set the desired value. To make the change permanent, navigate to the Products and services section, click Edit, and adjust the item rate to your preferred decimal places.
