Why no cost of sales transaction appears when invoice is created. O

If the product is set up as a Service item, the Cost of sales will not appear on the Transaction Journal. If it is set up as an Inventory item but has no purchase history or initial cost, it will display as $0.

To assign a cost to the item, follow these steps:

1. Go to the Gear icon and select Products and services.
2. Find the inventory item and click Edit.
3. Under the Inventory info section, click Starting value to enter an Initial Cost, then click Save.

Just a heads up, always double-check that it’s updated so you can spot the cost right away in the Transaction Journal.
