Question

In android app, when go to edit transaction (added from bank) to add photo of receipt transaction, detail is lost and won't save if reentered, used to work fine!?

When the application is not fully functional, performing the recommended basic troubleshooting steps will resolve the issue.

 

To get this sorted out, as an initial step, let's clear the application's cache files. Here's how:

 

Android:

 

  1. From your device's Settings, select Apps (varies by device).
  2. Choose the QuickBooks app from the list
  3. Select Storage
  4. Hit Clear Data.

 

iOS:

 

  1. Go to Settings and click Setting General iPhone Storage.
  2. Choose an app that's taking up a lot of space.
  3. To free up the storage without deleting the documents and data for the app, hit the Offload App.

 

Once refreshed, restart your mobile phone, logged back in, and edit the transaction from there. If you get the same result, uninstall and reinstall the QuickBooks Online mobile app.

Hi

 

That has not worked, amount still goes to zero as soon as you open edit.

 

Is this connected to the recent software update?

We’ll have to open QBO using a browser. Then, edit the downloaded transaction and add the photo of the receipt. I’m here to guide you through the process.

 

  1. Tap the Banking menu on the left panel and choose the Receipts option.
  2. This will open a page where you’ll see all receipts downloaded into QuickBooks.
  3. Choose the bill or receipt to view more details.
  4. If you see the Review option, click on it to make corrections or add any missing information.
  5. Hit Save and close.

If you’re able to see the details of the entry and saved it in the browser, I recommend contacting our QBO Care Team. One of our agents will review the settings of the android app and check what causes the unexpected behavior (detail is lost). From there, they’ll perform in-depth troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue.
