Yes, there is, Thomas.

QuickBooks Online (QBO) supports both three-column and four-column formats when uploading bank transactions via CSV or Excel files.

The three-column format includes Date, Description, and Amount columns.

Whereas the four-column format includes Date, Description, Credit, and Debit columns.

Great, thanks. how will QB know that the entries are related to each other? Say two Debits relates to one credit. shall i use the same journal entry number for this?

Hello there, thomas71.

When uploading bank transactions to QuickBooks Online using Excel, the software identifies related entries by matching shared details like date, description, and account information. For instance, if two debits relate to one credit, QuickBooks links them through these common fields, ensuring they are recorded as a single transaction.

And yes, you should assign the same journal entry number to related transactions in your Excel file. Including consistent details like account, date, and amount helps QuickBooks automatically categorize and link debits and credits as part of the same transaction.
