It seems the employee is already logged for 24 hours on the dates they're trying to add a time off request, Mcpascual.

The error message, "Cannot create time off, results in a daily total of over 24 hours," means that your employee's total hours for a single day are more than 24.

This can happen for a few reasons:

  • An employee has manually entered a combination of regular work, overtime, or other projects that already total 24 hours.
  • In QuickBooks Time, vacation, sick days, and business trips are counted as work entries. The system won't let an employee log a new entry if it pushes their daily total past 24 hours.
  • Your company settings might be set to automatically approve time off, which could be causing a conflict with existing hours. This will depend on the permission level you set for your employees.

We suggest reviewing your employee's timesheet for the day they're trying to log time off. They will need to edit an existing time entry to make room for the new one.

If the issue is with automatic approved you can check your company settings, you can refer to this article: Set up and Manage Time Off in QuickBooks Time.
