Question

The text in descriptions automatically becomes distorted and loses formatting. How can I prevent QuickBooks from changing line breaks?

I'm experiencing a problem with text formatting in QuickBooks Online, specifically in the description field for quotes and invoices. When I enter or paste text (even if it's correctly formatted), the system automatically adjusts the lines, causing the content to look distorted. This results in some lines being longer than others, affecting the professional appearance of the document in the final PDF.

Hi there, Xavier. To ensure everything looks clean, I recommend copying your text into a plain Notepad first, then pasting it into QuickBooks. This removes any hidden formatting that usually causes those lines to shift.  Once the text is in the description field, manually fix your line breaks and add a single space at the end of each line to make sure your formatting stays locked in place and the text doesn't move on the final PDF.

If the issue persists, it might be related to your browser. To resolve this, start by refreshing your page (or pressing F5), logging out and back in for a fresh start. You can also use a different supported browser or open an Incognito/Private window to clear any small glitches before adding the description again.
