Do you need to take the exam to obtain certification or simply complete the modules and receive greater than an 80% pass rate?

Let me share some information about the ProAdvisor program, @bentleigh. 

You're automatically part of the QuickBooks ProAdvisor Program if you have a QuickBooks Online Accountant (QBOA) account.

All you need to do is earn points. Taking the exam to get the certification can help you get more points.

The more points, the more flexibility in moving up the tiers and unlocking new benefits. Points are accumulated based on the following:

• Add a QuickBooks Online subscription for a client - 25 pointsper client
• Complete certification for QuickBooks Online - 100 points
• Complete advanced certification for QuickBooks Online - 200 points

You can achieve completing the certification and advanced certification by going to the ProAdvisor tab on the left menu of your QBOA account.
