How can we fix it? I see the same journal and expense in both header Payroll liability account and its subaccount. I don't want to see these entries in the header account

In QuickBooks Online, transactions that appear in both a parent account and its subaccount often result from automated rollup reporting or unintended direct postings to the parent account.

If individual entries are listed in both registers, they were likely posted directly to the parent account. To correct this:

1. Navigate to All apps.
2. Under Accounting, select Chart of Accounts.
3. Locate the parent account and click Account History.
4. Look for the journal entries or expenses that were mistakenly posted directly to this parent account.
5. Click on a transaction to open it, then click Edit.
6. Change the account line item from Payroll Liabilities to the correct subaccount, Superannuation Payable.
7. Click Save and Close.
8. Repeat this for any other direct entries in the parent register.

Once cleared, transactions will be recorded exclusively in the subaccount register, and the parent account will only display the aggregated balance. Consider locking the parent account to prevent future direct postings and maintain accurate reporting.
