Clicking and dragging the rule using the dot matrix is not working. Is there some process I am missing?

Hi dfbb,

Thank you for posting in the Community!

I replicated your concern about moving the priority dots in the bank rules and was able to re-arrange them in my test file.

To isolate the situation encountered, let's perform some basic troubleshooting steps to isolate the situation encountered in your QuickBooks Online account. To start with, use a new incognito window or a different supported browser. Using an incognito window does not store any data file.

Here's how:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

Then, log in to your QBO file and access your bank rules and re-arrange them through drag and drop option. Wait for a few seconds before making any action. If it worked out using incognito window, let's clear cache and cookies on your browser

If the problem persists, let's use a different supported browser or a different device.

Drop by again in the Community if you have further concerns. I am around to help you.

Many thanks IntuitSheila, appreciate your prompt response.

I logged into my account using Edge (rather than Firefox), still had the same problem.

I have overcome my dilemma by copying the rule, modifying it's name slightly and saving. It moved to the end of my rules which is what I was trying to do. Then I deleted the original rule, and renamed the rule back to it's original.

Thanks again, Cheers Murray
