Nevertheless, to convert your file, I suggest creating a backup copy of your old version of QBDT and convert it to the latest version. That way, you can import your file to QBO.

Here's how:

Download and install a trial version of the latest QuickBooks Desktop.
In QuickBooks, go to the File menu.
Click Open or Restore Company.
Select Restore a backup copy.
Find and open the backup copy of your data.
Select Open and click Save.
