Question

Why can't I add a new user? I keep sending the invitation, but they've received an 'Access Denied' message three times in a row now

QuickBooks Online enforces specific usage caps based on your plan. These limits govern the number of billable users you can invite and the total number of accounts, classes, locations, and custom fields you can create.

To view your account's current usage limits, sign in to QuickBooks Online as an admin. Go to the Gear icon > Account and settings > Usage tab.

You can check this article for guidance on the limits in each tier: Learn about usage limits.

Once you’ve confirmed your usage is under the limit, try using an incognito or private window. This clears local cache and cookies, which often resolves 'Access Denied' messages caused by browser-level conflicts.

You can also temporarily disable any active VPNs or proxy servers to diagnose connectivity issues, bypass service restrictions, or improve performance.

If the problem continues, try restarting your modem and router or reviewing your computer's LAN settings to refresh the connection and restore access.
