Thanks for reaching out to us here. It's important that you get the money that is owned to you on time. QuickBooks Online is a great tool to have, it allows you to manually add interest to each invoice that is over due. I can provide some information about late fees.
In QuickBooks Online, there is no option to add late fees automatically. You would need to manually add it as a line item in your invoice. Here are some steps that will help you get started.
There are two options:
-You can create a separate invoice for the charge
-You can add another line item on the past due invoice
if you haven't created an interest item yet, you will want to create one now. Here's how:
Click the Gearicon, select Products and Services.
Click New.
Choose either Non-inventory or Service.
Enter a name for the interest.
Choose theIncome account, then click Save and close.
Here's how you can add the item on the new invoice:
Click the Plus sign (+) icon, then choose Invoice.
Under the PRODUCT/SERVICE column, add the interest item.
Enter the amount manually in the AMOUNTtab.
Click Save and close.
If you want to include the interest on the existing invoice, here's how:
Click Sales, then go to the Customers tab.
Choose the customer, then look for the past due invoice.
Add the interest item in the unused line, then enter the amount.
Click Save and close.
