My Quick books online started adding the new invoices to the overdue invoice amount instead of the current amount what is the solotoin?

I appreciate you reaching out to us here.  Welcome!  Having invoice amounts applied to overdue invoices, rather than the current one can be rather concerning.  I would be glad to provide some insight here!

QuickBooks Online has a multitude of valuable features that can save valuable time.  In your situation, it would appear that you have turned on the 'auto apply' feature for credit memos.  However, this can be turned off, so you can decide which invoices you would like to apply the credit to.  Here's how; 

1. Open your Settings⚙ and select Account and settings

2. Select the Advanced tab

3. Scroll down and click on Edit ✎ in the Automation section

4. Turn off Automatically apply credits

5. Hit Save, then Done.

To remove the payment from the incorrect invoices, follow these steps;

1. Open Sales then Invoices, from the left menu

2. Locate and select the invoice with the incorrect payment applied

3. In the top right, click on the Payment

4. Select the appropriate date

5. When the payment opens, confirm this is the incorrect payment 

6. Scroll to the bottom and hit More, then Delete

7. Hit Yes to confirm

Note;  Deleting transactions cannot be undone.  If a payment is removed in error, you will need to 'Receive Payment' on the invoice to ensure your books remain accurate.
