QuickBooks Self-Employed does not have a centralized Client List or Contacts page that you can open and clean up directly. Instead, it populates customer names dynamically based on draft invoices, recurring templates, and past transaction records.

As a workaround, you can rename an old client to move their name to the bottom of the drop-down list by adding a prefix like "ZZ_".

Here’s how:

  1. Go to Invoices.

  2. Find any past invoice for that client.

  3. Select the drop-down menu under Action and click Edit.

  4. Click Edit customer info.

  5. Add a prefix to their name, such as ZZ_ or OLD_ (e.g., ZZ_John Smith).

  6. Select Save.
