Question

I have a client that has ceased trading. The don't want to continue to pay for QB but need the data for 7 years. Is there a specific report we can run to keep the data?

I have a P&L, Balance Sheet etc but wondered if there was a specific report. I guess I could just run a nominal ledger? Just wanted to ask what other people have done

Hi there, @jvokes. Please know that the report to be exported will depend on the needs of your client's business.

Although you can export the nominal or general ledger to keep the data, it is also recommended to export the Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and other key reports. It is to ensure your client has all the essential information they will need in the future.

Here's how to export and view all the reports:

  1. Navigate to the Reports, and click Standard Reports.
  2. Find and select the report you want to save.
  3. Click the Export icon and choose Export to PDF.
  4. Tick Save as PDF to complete the process.

In addition to reports, you can also have the various lists and entries in QBO. For detailed assistance, check out this resource: Export your data from QuickBooks.
