I want to create a recurring transaction, but the 'new' button in the recurring transactions list is inactive.

The situation you described is a specific subscription-based concern, Heather.

 

The Recurring transactions feature is exclusive to the Essentials, Plus, and Advanced versions. If you're currently using Simple Start, you can upgrade your subscription to access it.

 

As a workaround, you can duplicate existing transactions by using the Make a copy feature. Here's how:

 

  1. Open an existing transaction.
  2. Under the Action column, click View/Edit.
  3. On the lower part of the page, select More actions.
  4. Choose Make a copy, then edit the date.
  5. Hit Save and close
