I want to downgrade a clients subscription, what data will carry across to the new subscription? Is there anything that will not carry across?

I appreciate your attention to detail when managing your client's QBO subscription downgrade.

When transitioning to a lower-tier plan, note that most core data including Transactions, Reports, Chart of accounts, Customer and Supplier details, will carry forward. However, certain features tied to the higher-tier plan will no longer be accessible. Additionally, if Multi-Currency is enabled for QBO Advanced, Plus, or Essentials plans, you will not be able to downgrade, as Multi-Currency cannot be disabled.

Here's a breakdown of the features lost with each downgrade:

If downgrading from QBO Advanced to Plus: 

You'll lose features exclusive to Advanced, such as custom roles based on the role offerings system, batch transactions, advanced reporting, workflows, and smart reporting. 

If downgrading from QBO Plus to Essentials: 

You'll lose features like inventory tracking, project management, location tracking, and class tracking. Reports and data tied to these features will no longer be accessible, though transactions and standard customer and vendor data will remain intact.

If downgrading from QBO Essentials to Simple Start:

Bill management, vendor payments, and time tracking features will be removed. However, general accounting data and reports will still be accessible.

It's also worth noting to export any feature-specific data to ensure that you’ll retain access to critical information after the downgrade.
