Im tryin t set up tax rate and its coming up with error. It doesn’t recognise the county I’m living in. It’s asking me to select a county off the list but no list appears

Are you referring to the 'Tax agency' field when creating a new tax rate? 

If there is no option for a drop-down list here please attempt to troubleshoot by clearing the cache on your browser or loading QuickBooks through an incognito/private browsing window.
