Hi there, tregs.

Let's walk through some troubleshooting steps to ensure your device functions smoothly.

First, make sure your mobile app is updated to the latest version. This way, you'll get our newest security patches, resolving mileage issues.

If the issue persists, let's check that auto-tracking is enabled and all required permissions and settings are configured.

For iOS:

  1. Open the QuickBooks app menu and select Mileage.
  2. Turn on Auto-tracking.
  3. Open iPhone Settings and:
    • Set Location Access to Always.
    • Enable Motion & Fitness.
    • Turn on Significant Locations.
  4. In the QuickBooks app menu, navigate to Intuit Account & Settings, select Mileage, and tap Mileage Troubleshooting.
  5. Avoid using Low Power Mode.
  6. If tracking problems persist, disable Content & Privacy Restrictions.

For Android:

  1. Open the QuickBooks app menu and select Mileage.
  2. Ensure Auto-tracking is turned on.
  3. Go to your device settings and set location access to All the time.
  4. Enable Physical Activity Access.
  5. Avoid using mobile hotspots while driving, as this may interfere with tracking.
  6. Open the QuickBooks app menu, navigate to Settings, and review your Mileage Settings.
  7. Add QuickBooks to the list of trusted apps in any antivirus or battery saver settings.
  8. Disable aggressive battery or memory-saving features following your phone manufacturer's instructions.
