You can record the credit limit in the Notes field or Custom fields as a workaround, since QuickBooks Online (QBO) doesn’t currently offer the option to set up a credit limit, Pauline.

Here’s how:

  1. Hover over My Apps and select Customers Hub.
  2. Click on Customers and choose the customer for whom you want to set a credit limit.
  3. Hit Edit.
  4. Scroll down to the Notes and attachments section to add the credit limit.
  5. Click Save.

For Custom fields:

  1. Select Customers.
  2. Choose Customers and select the customer for whom you want to set a credit limit.
  3. Click Edit.
  4. Scroll down to the Custom fields section.
  5. Enter the name, then select Text and Number from the dropdown menu.
  6. Check the box for Credit Note.
  7. Click Save.
