Let me share some insights about what Windows OS your computer needs to work with QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) 2014, so you can manage your company files accordingly.

You can have Windows 8, 7, or Vista (SP1 or later) all editions, including 64-bit, natively installed in your computer to meet the minimum system requirements for QBDT 2014. However, please note that the said version has already been discontinued by QuickBooks. Using it might create compatibility issues on your end. You may want to upgrade to a newer version to get the latest features and product improvements.
