The business is closing. How do we download all the information contained in our Quickbooks Online account for audit and archive purposes?

Did you convert data from QB Desktop or use QB Online from scratch?

Let's ensure you can download all your QuickBooks Online (QBO) information so you can use it for future reference, especially for potential audits, Dan.

If you're using QBO Advanced, you can utilize the backup company feature to create a copy of your company data. If you're on one of the lower-tier plans, you may want to consider upgrading your subscription.

However, if you prefer to continue using QuickBooks Simple Start, Essentials, or Plus, you can export your reports and lists into individual Excel files. Ensure to filter the date range to include all the transactions you need.

Here's how to do it:

1. Go to the Gear icon.
2. Under Tools, select Export Data. 

    

3. On the Reports tab, set the date range to year-to-date.
4. Add items from the Reports/Lists tabs by toggling the slider.
5. Press Export to Excel.
