Question

Why do you always say "Sorry, we can't update your account. Please wait a few hours and try updating again (9999). It has not been a few hours, it has been a week. Why?

Hi there, ianclapham. The Error 9999 you encountered is a reported script error that occurs when there is a disruption in the connection between your bank and QuickBooks Online.

This error is only temporary and should resolve itself within 48 hours. Since it's been a week, I recommend contacting our customer care support to diagnose the root cause of this. You can also consider signing in to your bank's website to check if they have any system maintenance.

Here's how to contact our support:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks account.
  2. Select the Help (?) icon.
  3. Scroll down to select the Contact Us button and follow the prompts.
  4. You will be able to request a callback or start a live chat with an expert.
