Why is it such a pain to link my bank accounts everytime I go to link it lags out has been doing it for months now? Is there an easier or another way to do it

My bank accounts are constantly un connecting and needing authorisation to link again but for a few months now it won't reconnect to them seem to get to the banks pages to authorise then it comes up with sorry cant refresh or load at this time is xero any better to use?

I understand how tedious it can be to constantly reconnect your bank accounts, but please note that this is actually a consumer protection measure intentionally built into how Open Banking operates in the UK.

 

Under Open Banking rules, your consent to share data with apps like QuickBooks usually lasts for 90 days and then expires automatically. This gives you the opportunity to review which apps can access your financial data.

When your consent expires, the program can no longer pull in new transactions, so you’ll need to reconnect and reconfirm your authorisation.


To make this process easier, set a reminder for when the connection is due to expire so you can stay ahead of any disruptions. Also, look out for notifications, as these will alert you if a bank account disconnects.

Regarding the loading error you encountered, this usually happens if your internet connection is disrupted or your browser gets stuck during the handoff to your banking page. I recommend refreshing the platform and ensuring your internet speed is stable.
