Question

Anyone know why searching by tags no longer works? Searching for a tag in the top no longer shows any results (used to work) and the Advanced Search doesnt work either.

Tags have been discontinued in QuickBooks Online (QBO), SB778. That's why they are no longer appearing in the search function.

Intuit discontinued the tags feature on May 16, 2025. This change is part of a platform-wide effort to enhance reporting and tracking by encouraging users to utilize the more advanced capabilities of custom fields.

Although you cannot search for tags directly, you can still access your historical data by generating specific reports. You can run the Transaction List by Tag Group report.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Reports from the left navigation menu.
  2. In the search bar, type Transaction List by Tag Group and select the report.
  3. Set the Report period to the desired date range.
  4. Click Run report.
