Hi there, Info2333.

I understand that downgrading your subscription can be desirable when you only use QuickBooks for simple recording and aren’t utilising any of the advanced features it offers. I’ll explain this further.

You can downgrade your subscription only if you have used QuickBooks Essentials, Plus, or Advanced. If you are on QuickBooks Simple Start, you cannot downgrade any further since this is the lowest plan.

There are cases where downgrading to a lower plan remains challenging, even if you have used a higher plan. Some features available in higher tiers, such as multi-currency, are not removed or disabled when you downgrade.

To learn more about downgrading your QuickBooks subscription, please check out this article: Upgrade or Change your Subscription.

If you are the Primary admin and you still cannot downgrade after using Essentials, Plus, or Advanced, I recommend contacting our Live Support team for further assistance. They can help you locate the Primary admin for your account and guide you through the process to ensure any necessary changes are correctly applied.

The Community is glad to be part of your QBO experience. If you have any further questions or need assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I will respond promptly.

This is a bait and switch that is a borderline scam. I signed up for Essentials and have somehow now been bumped up to Advanced and I know have to call to downgrade with no option to renew the plan I signed up for. There really is no limit on how low this company will go.
