When you’re looking at the settings, the dollar sign ($) is actually just a placeholder for the overall display format. It’s there to help you visualize where the symbol, commas, and decimals will land, rather than choosing the actual currency. This keeps the menu clean while letting you pick the layout that is easiest for you to read.

Once you create a transaction, such as an invoice, it will automatically show as A$. If you also enabled multicurrency and added foreign customers, the symbol will adjust accordingly.
