How to confirm and change tax location?

Hello,

The current tax location in my quickbooks is incorrect, it is set up under Ireland but the company is actually in Tanzania.

How can change and confirm the tax location? As per quickbooks “Your subscription will be terminated if we are unable unable to determine your location for more than twelve months.”

To confirm and update your tax location, let’s go to the Accounts and Settings page. Then, make sure the key account information, such as your company address, payment method, and phone number, matches your actual business location.

When data points to multiple countries and QuickBooks Online cannot find at least two matching details, you will receive a subscription notification. Here's how do it:

 

  1. Navigate to the Gear Icon, click Account and Settings under Your Company.
  2. Go to the Company section, review all the information, and ensure that the address is set to Tanzania.
  3. Click on Edit to make changes, then Save when done.
  4. Go back to the Gear icon and select Subscriptions and billing.
  5. Review your payment details and make sure the country code matches where your business operates.

Hi, thank you for your response, i tried but the State and Country is not clickable so that is my issue, it is fixed to Ireland and i cannot change the country.

Changing the company country or region for an existing QuickBooks Online company is not possible. I suggest creating a new QuickBooks Online company using the correct Country (Tanzania) and export all the data from the incorrect country and import it to the correct one. 

Here’s how to export data in QuickBooks Online.

 

  1. In your QuickBooks Online account, click the Gear icon. 
  2. Select Export data.
  3. Click the Radio button on which Reports or Lists you’d want to export.
  4. Then, click Export to Excel.

 

Please know that you can only import Bank Data, Chart of Accounts, Customers, Invoices, JE, Products and Services, and Vendors in QuickBooks Online.
