Error message: Can't exit design mode because control 'buttonshowhidecoachtips' can not be created

We are getting the following error when trying to import data from Excel. The error is related to VB on Excel but it is coming up before we get the option to select an Excel file, so Excel isn't even opened yet. Any ideas would be appreciated: Can't exit design mode because control 'buttonshowhidecoachtips' can not be created.

Thank you for bringing this issue. The error you're encountering usually happens due to an issue with the Excel file or its embedded VBA controls or macros which isn't related to QuickBooks, InspGadgt.

You can try opening the Excel on a different computer with the same or a newer version of Excel. If the file works fine on another system, the problem might be related to the Excel installation on your own computer or setup.

If the issue continues, I recommend reaching out to an IT professional. They have a deeper knowledge about system-level issue that may be causing the error or diagnose and resolve problems.

For additional guidance on troubleshooting issues when importing data into Excel from QuickBooks, you can refer to this article: Fix Export to Excel issues in QuickBooks Desktop.

Feel free to reach out if you have any other questions about importing and exporting data in QuickBooks. I'll always be around to assist you further.

As I mentioned in my original post...This error is happening BEFORE we select an Excel file. Excel isn't even open at this point.
