I appreciate the effort you’ve put into temporarily resolving the freezing issue, StBenHO.

Since you are using Microsoft Office 365, please ensure that Microsoft Excel is installed on your computer and confirm that you are using the desktop version instead of the browser-based Excel Online, which is not compatible with QuickBooks Desktop export features.

It’s also important to verify that your version of QuickBooks Desktop is compatible with Microsoft Office. You can review the system requirements for QuickBooks Desktop to ensure compatibility. You can also follow Microsoft's instructions to fix Microsoft Office.

Another way is to temporarily turn off and on your Windows UAC (User Account Control) settings. Adjusting these settings can help resolve obstacles that may interfere with QuickBooks exporting to Excel.

Here are the steps to follow:

  1. Open the Windows Start menu.
  2. Search for User Account Control Settings and select the option.
  3. Move the slider to the Never Notify position.
  4. Click OK to save the changes.
  5. Restart your computer to apply the updated settings.

If the issue persists, you can follow the steps outlined in this article for additional troubleshooting: Fix export to Excel issues in QuickBooks Desktop.
