How do I apply a credit to autopay?

I can't adjust anything on an invoice that has autopay set up or autopay cancels, so if a customer gets a credit how do i apply so it doesn't charge their card the full amount? Thank you! Annette

You'll need to modify the invoice to cancel the autopay setup, then enable it again to apply the credit, Annette.

If you have a recurring invoice template set up, you can edit it to apply the credit. However, if you don't have one, you can generate a new one. Please note that updating recurring templates with autopay will result in the cancellation of autopay if you change any of these fields:

  • Total amount
  • Frequency
  • Terms
  • Payment options
  • Email address
  • Customer name

Once the recurring invoice is updated, the autopay setup will be cancelled. Since the autopay setup is no longer active, you can re-enable it with the updated credit applied.
