How do I change my unemployment account ID?

You can update your Illinois State Unemployment Insurance account ID in QBO by navigating to the Payroll Settings, Carrie.

Here’s how:

1. Go to the Gear icon and select Payroll Settings.       
2. In the Taxes section, look for the Illinois tax and select the Edit (✎) icon.
3. In the State Unemployment Insurance (SUI) Setup section, select Change or add new rate.
4. Enter the new rate along with its effective date. For most states, the effective date is January 1, while for NJ, TN, and NY, it’s July 1.
5. Add or update any applicable surcharge or assessment rates.
6. Click OK to save the changes.
