How can I update my expense report so the actual business name appears instead of just “Intuit”?

Hi there, Jeanne34. To update the name on your expenses, you can create a custom category for them.

Before that, if the expense came in from your bank feed, the transaction may still show the original name until you edit the payee/label manually.

Here's how:

  1. Under Transactions, select the expenses you want to change, then click Add custom category

  2. On Add business categories, choose the category you want to customize, then enter your custom name. Select the Tax category, then click Save.

  3. Hit Apply so the categorization is saved.

For your expense report, since we’ve already added a category for this transaction, you should now see the transaction name in your expenses. I also recommend creating a rule for the future so that whenever a transaction comes in with the bank text “Intuit,” it automatically renames the description to your preferred name and assigns the correct category.
