Question

How do I search for an invoice in quickbooks self employed/

I can sort them all by date and number I guess but it seems like it would be logical to have a search box where I could search by customer or invoice number.

Thank you for bringing this up, @bjorn2. Currently, QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) doesn’t offer a search box for locating invoices directly by customer name or invoice number.

I can definitely see how a feature like that could make things more convenient. For now, you can use the sorting options available, such as by invoice Date and Status, to narrow things down.

They used to have the search option, why did you take it away? I have been using self employed for 7 years and now this year, its gone.

We understand your frustration, John. While it is no longer available and is now functioning as designed.

As a workaround, you can use your browser’s search function by pressing Ctrl + F (or Cmd + F on Mac) to quickly locate names directly on the invoice page.
