How do I change the dashboard to the old style

There isn't a way to switch the dashboard back to the old style. QuickBooks Online in the US has fully moved to the new experience, so the option to return to the classic layout is no longer available, and that applies to the desktop app too. Here's the part that helps: this was an appearance change, so your workflows, features, and data are all exactly where they were, and you can reshape the new Home page so it shows what you actually use and hides the rest. Here's how to make it work the way you do.

Show only the widgets you want

  1. On the top right of your Home page, select Customize.
  2. Select Add or remove widgets.
  3. Check the sections and widgets you want to keep, and uncheck the ones you don't, like the forecasts or insights you'd rather not see.
  4. Select Save.

Move and resize what's left

  1. On the top right of your Home page, select Customize.
  2. Drag a widget to move it where you want it. A few sections can't be moved.
  3. To resize a widget, drag its edges. Not every widget resizes, and some resize in one direction only.
  4. Select Save.

Put your most-used tasks one click away

  1. In the Create actions area of your Home page, select Show all.
  2. Choose the shortcuts you want on top. You can keep up to 10, so this is where quick links to the workflows you use most, like creating an invoice or paying a vendor, can live.

Get to customers, vendors, accounts, and reports fast

  1. Use the app carousel and the navigation menu to reach the areas you use most, like Sales, Customers, and Reports. To reorder the apps, select Customize at the bottom of the navigation menu.
  2. Add the Bank Accounts widget from Add or remove widgets to see your account balances right on the Home page.

Hide the numbers when you need to

  1. Select Privacy on your Home page to hide your financial figures while the page is open.

Tell the team what you want back

  1. Select Settings (the gear icon), then Feedback.
  2. Describe what changed and what you'd like to see again, then select Next to submit. This is the channel the product team actually reviews when deciding what to adjust.

If one specific thing got harder, like finding a report or getting to your customer list, tell us which one and we'll point you to the fastest way to reach it in the new layout.

I understand how challenging it can be to adjust to changes, especially when you were previously comfortable with how things worked, Localsec.

The option to switch back to the old interface is no longer available. The primary update involves the appearance of QuickBooks Online, but its core workflows, accounting features, and your data remain the same.

While there's no option to switch back to the old layout, you can submit your comments or input to our product engineers. We value your experience, as it helps us identify areas that need improvement.

Here's how you can do it:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Feedback
  2. Please provide your input in the designated box, and explain how the new layout affects you.
  3. Once done, submit it.

You can leave a reply below if you need further assistance with anything else.

I am a small business and do not have time to figure out what the heck you have done to the UI. I find it completely unusable and would like to revert back to the old UI.

I will agree with everyone else here. I'm not paying what I do each month for this to be all flashy and "New" looking. I need to go on there, get done what I need to and get back to running my business. This new layout is an atrocity.

It needs to be simple and fast, not flashy.

The new UI is seriously so bad. I also really hate it. I have no idea why Intuit is too stupid to listen to its customers, nobody likes this new UI. Its dogwater. I swear their motto is "lets make things worse for our customer base and charge ridiculous amounts of money to do so!"

This sums it up perfectly.

Thanks again, Intuit, for making it take even longer for me to perform every single task.

Agree!  It's awful.  Junk at the top I have to scroll past.  Matching transactions only halfway works now. It's hot garbage.

It's awful. I just got hit with it today. User unfriendly and takes forever to find everything. I don't know what they're thinking. User unfriendly! It's obvious they don't care about their customers.

Can I customize the dashbord? I'd like to make if fuctional for me. I don't need AI updates and forcasts and the like. Just links to customers, vendors, my accounts and reports. If I can get this situated on my PERSONAL dashbord, I can ignore all the flash.

THIS WOULD BE FANTASTIC!

Personally I managed to postpone this kindergarten's busy box of a GUI this past week 2/7/26.  I was blasted with what could only be described as a  Jackson Pollock painting on steroids.  Users overwhelmingly select SIMPLE layouts.  Not flashbang parade-like crawlers and playing "escape room" just to find the information you need.  I will be shutting off to the best of my ability all these pointless bells and whistles just to keep Intuit's developers employed.
