Hi there, jillculp.

QuickBooks Online offers a convenient and easy-to-use feature that allows you to unmatch transactions downloaded from your credit card. This feature can be helpful if you encounter any issues during the matching process or need to modify the transaction details for any reason.

For instance, if you notice an error in the matching process, such as a duplication of transactions, or if you need to change the category or description of a transaction, you can unmatch the transaction and make the necessary changes. This will help ensure the accuracy and completeness of your financial records.

To unmatch a transaction in QuickBooks Online, here's how:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Go to the Banking or Transactions tab.
  3. Select the account that contains the transactions you want to unmatch.
  4. Under the Categorized tab, locate the transaction you wish to unmatch and click Undo.

After unmatching a transaction, it will return to the "For Review" section, where you can make any necessary changes or re-match it with the correct category. Click Add once done.
